This weeks Fab Finds are all about Mad Men.  The award winning show retuned to AMC this past Sunday after a 17 month hiatus.  Many of you know that we are obsessed with Mad Men, especially the fashion aspect.  Season 5 takes us to 1966 where monochrome outfits, mini-skirts, and bold prints have taken center stage.

Yesterday wasn't too sunny here in MA and while I was stuck inside most of the day, I chose to brighten up my look with my two favorite colors: pink and green!  This blouse was a steal at Old Navy;  it's super comfy and seems to go with anything.  These Kendra Scott earrings are amazing.  Not only are they one of my favorite colors but they are gorgeous.  Today, I decided I like the way they look better with my hair pulled back (however messy my bun may be), they stand out much more and pop in contrast to my pink blouse.

Winter may have snuck back momentarily but I am going to start getting some use out of my white jeans starting now (even though it's not Memorial Day yet). This is my new spring bag, borderline glow in the dark, and I love it! It's a great way to minimize the the things you carry around with you everyday (see what's in the Glitteratis' bags here) and add some real excitement to your outfit.

We knew this weather seemed too good to be true. We are back to a chilly March here in New England, but here is an outfit from last week featuring this amazing high-low skirt I found at Macy's in Florida! I love the trend but it took me awhile to find the right skirt. I also can't remember the last time I tied my shirt, but it was kind of fun with this look. My go-to hairdo last week was a messy and loose bun and I also started breaking out my open toe sandals!

Rainbow colored skinny jeans, do we love them? YES! There is no better way to brighten up an outfit than with skinny jeans in an array of colors.  Michelle is wearing orange jeans from H&M and I am wearing green jeans from J. Crew.  Coincidentally, we both chose to pair them with embellished off white tops and brown wedges.  The off white tops and colored jeans compliment each other well and mimic the classic jeans and white tee shirt look.  How are you wearing your colored jeans?

With all the pastels out there right now, we all need a little something extra to toughen up our look. This necklace will add some edge to any outfit!

This heat wave in New England is more than amazing, need we say more (sorry skiers). But after winter, we could all use a little pick-me-up in the tan department. Greetings from sunny Florida! You have seen me in this adorable StyleMint dress once before but this time it looks totally different.  One month ago I wore it here, winterized with a fur vest and riding boots;  now I'm wearing it with wedges and no need for a jacket!  You know how much the Glitterati love stripes and statement necklaces, this outfit combines the best of both worlds in a cute and casual way perfect for a causal night out!

This headband makes me feel like "You Can Do It" lady and the white blazer makes me feel like I'm in Saturday Night Fever. It's fun channeling your inner retro self and exploring the trends of past decades. (The Glitterati are OBSESSED with Mad Men/the fashions of the 60's and can't wait for it's return this Sunday!) And yes, it may be a little early to break out the wedges since there aren't even leaves on the trees yet, but you cannot pay me to put on a pair of socks again until next winter!

Currently loving this weather we are having in New England right now.. 70 and sunny in March, I'll take it! I picked up this J. Crew Paisley print Perfect Shirt a while ago and apparently never got around to wearing it, but now that I have, I love it.  This shirt has every color imaginable in it; I chose to accentuate the pink hues with a skinny belt, bright scarf, and this to die for Kendra Scott cocktail ring.  With a busy print like this, a few accessories go a long way.

With spring weather quickly warming up New England, it's hard NOT to want to wear florals and bright colors and leave those tights in the drawer. It's so refreshing to open up the windows, go outside without a jacket on, and get some color back in your life! This blouse (similar color palette to my post here) takes care of the color blocking trend all in one shot without having to layer on too many pieces. It's fun to match pieces like this with a girly floral skirt and sky high heels.

Orange You Glad...

This weather is amazing and it makes me want to embrace all of the bright colors in my closet! Some of the Glitterati's new favorite trends are staying within the same color family, adding a pop of color, and keeping the accessories minimal (per our Fab Finds and more inspiration on our Pinterest page). This Kendra Scott necklace is the perfect accessory (blue and orange is my favorite color combo) since it really pops against the gingham. Enjoy the arrival of spring and let those pasty white legs come out to play!

Spring Into Beauty

With the official start to Spring less than one week away, it's time to revamp not only our wardrobes but our beauty routines too!  We all know that warmer weather means brighter colors and this Spring/Summer I, Ashley, am aiming for my beauty routine to be easy and fun; lots of nudes and brights...

1. Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer in "Nude"

I never like feeling of a lot of make-up on my skin and this fairly recent purchase is my new favorite.  A thin coat offers the perfect amount of coverage without feeling like I'm wearing anything at all! 

2. bareMinerals "Warmth"

This product has been a long time beauty staple of mine and it never fails me.  I love the loose powder and feel that it looks good on year round. 

3. NARS "Orgasm" Blush

NARS "Orgasm" might just be the #1 blush ever.  It is the perfect pink and offers just the right amount of shine which reflects nicely for a sun-kissed glow.

4. Too Faced "Natural Eye" 

Another recent purchase is this Too Faced Natural Eye Neutral Eye Shadow Collection, it is a Too Faced Best Seller and I can see why.  The 9 colors are the perfect assortment of tans, browns, and just enough glitter to make easy transitions from day to night while always looking natural (no pun intended). Any of these combinations with a sweep of mascara are gorgeous on anyone.  

5. Sephora "Rouge" R06, NYX "Addis Ababa", Revlon "Raspberry Freeze"

To top this Spring Beauty look off my lips must have a pop of color!  Here you see a few old and new lip favorites that have recently been put on constant rotation in my beauty routine. I love the look of the minimal and natural eye makeup with pink cheeks and a bright color on the lips; first off, it's easy and second the bright lips give a little more day to day glam!

Earth Tones

A little story: I started doing my own makeup for dance recitals when I was very little. I will never forget my first dance teacher telling us to use "earth tones" for our eyeshadow, so I showed up to my recital with blue and green all over my eyes. I guess she had meant the colors of the earth AKA dirt. I never made that mistake twice.

Anyways... the Glitterati draw much inspiration from the J.Crew catalogues every month and this outfit was derived from color blocking within the same color family. And of course some simple pieces of jewelry including a fabulous cocktail ring to spicen up your day!

Business Basics

We all know that there are certain staple pieces to any wardrobe: jeans, a white shirt, a black skirt, black pumps, etc.  Many of these pieces are considered "business attire" but can be dressed up or dressed down at your desire.  This look encompasses two of my staple pieces along with one (necessary) accessory.  Black pumps and a black blazer go with nearly everything; that's not always fun but in the world of a working girl, it's always easy!  One accessory I don't often photograph myself in are my glasses though I wear them a lot of the time.  I like to use mine as an accessory sometimes, the way we use sunglasses: functional and fun.  They are the perfect item to finish this look off.

Fab Finds

[ Invisible Children ]

We hope that many of you have heard about Joseph Kony and the #Kony2012 Campaign to stop what is going on in Uganda and has been going on for 26 years.  Kony is the leader of the LRA (Lord's Resistance Army) which has abducted more than 30,000 children in Northern Uganada.  He and his army have been known to rape, murder, mutilate, and brainwash these children into child soldiers.  We are thrilled that this video has recently gone viral and that celebrities and government personnel are in support of the cause.  This is something that is very important to us; in the years 2006-2007, Ashley's high school raised over $17,000 for the Invisible Children Schools for Schools program which provided these children with new schools which became safe havens for them.  If you haven't seen this 30 minute film, PLEASE WATCH, and if you have we recommend getting your hands on the 2006 film, Invisible Children: Rough Cut, it is truly life changing.

[ Skinnygirl Cocktails ]

Bethenny never fails us! The Glitterati couldn't be any more in love with Skinnygirl Cocktails AND Bethenny Frankel! The Skinnygirl Margarita (the first ever Skinnygirl cocktail) is truly our favorite but we can't wait to try the new red, white, and blush wines as well as the Pina Colada pre-mixed drink, and the flavored vodkas. There's certainly more to the Glitterati other than just clothes. We are both huge book worms. Currently, we are reading this book (in preparation for the movie coming out on April 20) and can't help but anticipate seeing Zac's amazingly good looks on the big screen! Sometimes a girl just needs a sweet little romance to daydream about.
