Who doesn't love wearing jeans to work on "Casual Friday"?  By the time Friday rolls around I am thrilled to throw on jeans and a tee, especially after waking up far too late.  But don't be fooled, I never dress down too much.  I often pair my Friday look with a blazer, some fun shoes, and bright lips.  Causal Friday often turns into Happy Hour and last Friday this look was perfect for after work festivities with Ally, my fellow Glitterati! As most of you know, Tangerine was declared the number one color of the year by Pantone. Ever since I have been dying to wear this color combo! I wore this outfit out to a MUCH NEEDED happy hour/bar appetizers last Friday with my fellow Glitterati, Ashley. It was a gorgeous week but of course Friday was rainy and miserable... but regardless, I stuck with my bright colors and they didn't let me down!

Welcome one of our guest stars, Michelle, for today's post.  She is showcasing some key trend pieces from her closet.  Her H&M blouse is cropped in the front, long in the back and is offset by her higher waisted skinny jeans.  To keep her look more casual for a day out she chose to wear her Sam Edelman motorcycle boots, which were a steal at T.J. Maxx.  Her whole look is very trendy and fun, yet affordable!

This amazing dress came in the mail from StyleMint last week and I was far too excited to wear it.  The weather over the weekend was halfway decent so I took a risk and went bare legged.  I winterized the dress just enough by pairing it with my (favorite) Frye riding boots and my warm fur vest.  You can see  the blue version of the same dress on Ally here and we suggest you join StyleMint if you haven't already!

A Silky Staple

These photos were taken a little while ago because as of right now, about 99% of the snow has melted and it's been nearly 50 degrees everyday (in February!). Amelia has on this great alternative to the very typical black pea coat, which was luckily found in an outlet store around Christmastime. Silk blouses are everywhere these days, with bright color options galore... and consider them a closet staple because they are so easy to dress up or dress down. Channel your inner spring fashionista, put away those socks and boots, and break out the cute flats!

I scored these pants on major sale last week at Urban Outfitters.  They are so versatile; they are perfect for work or can be jazzed up to go out.  I wore this outfit to work right after I bought them (minus the fun up-do) and decided to snap some pictures.  I really loved this look and felt like I was channeling Audrey Hepburn (see this post!). I always find it fun to emulate my style icons, you should too!

Flashbacks & Purple Shades

So this waterwheel was one of my favorite things when I was really little... loved to say "waterwheel" and loved to ride by it. Anyways.. about the outfit. I have had these smoking loafers from Steve Madden for awhile and am finally posting about them. They are so comfortable (unlike most flats) and really add an element of fun to any outfit. I also bought these sunglasses from Target to wear to a concert recently and have found myself wearing them a lot more than expected! You know the Glitterati love their fab finds.

Town Square

This past weekend I headed up to UMass Amherst to visit my sister for some lunch and shopping.  We grabbed lunch at Moti, a Persian Mediterranean restaurant that your Glitterati frequented during college and went shopping in Northampton, MA.  Between lunch and shopping we snuck in a little photo shoot in the center of Amherst.  In warmer weather this town square is home to lots of sunbathers, dog walkers, and local farmers selling fruits and vegetables; Saturday, it was the perfect backdrop for my winterized and functional outfit.  It was pretty cold out so I layered up with two button downs and some amazing J. Crew cashmere gloves but because I hate shopping in a big bulky jacket (even outside) I opted for my trusty J. Crew puffer vest.  I jazzed my look up with some long necklaces and wore both of my different patterned collars up!  When you're outside in the cold, sometimes it's the little details in an outfit that count.
