Not that we have any traveling plans anytime soon... we still like to shop like we do. One of the best things to do on vacation is to be more adventurous than you normally would be. Go bold with big prints or plan each outfit with a really special statement piece of jewelry. Plan according to the destination... our suitcase is always filled with different items whether we're visiting New York, Cape Cod, or Palm Beach. Rare vintage beach photos (seen here) show us how much beach attire has changed in 100 years and how much less fabric is considered acceptable these days. There's nothing better than a good vintage photo to appreciate some candidness in your life.

It's funny how styles follow you as you get older, just in different versions. I remember, back before I knew what flats or wedges or boots were, I wore sneakers every day. It's not a common occurrence anymore but there are some days where casual sneakers just seem appropriate. They even seem to be making a huge fashion statement with the wedge sneakers and different patterns & fabrics. These Tory Burch ones mix so many of my favorite elements. Be stylish in your sneakers!

I ordered this white blouse from the J.Crew Factory a few weeks ago and I'm fairly certain it will become a staple piece for me this summer.  I gave my mom the same one in red for Mother's Day too, I like it that much! For a bridal shower over the weekend, I paired it with various shades of red and orange to brighten up the dreary Saturday we had.

After seeing The Great Gatsby with Ashley this weekend, I realized... why not live lavishly with statement jewels all the time? I go through phases of not wanting to wear big, cumbersome jewelry and wanting to wear as much as possible. The 1920's are my favorite decade and wish it was a common thing to be dressed up in feathers, beads, and fringe all the time. (The movie was fantastic and the soundtrack was surprisingly even better! We recommend seeing it.)
